re:formation / re:volution

GAiN Conferences owe a strong legacy to the Reformation era of 500 years ago. When Tyndale translated the Bible into English his aim was to popularise it so that even the ploughboy in the field could read it for himself.

The enterprising printer who rapidly translated Martin Luther’s 95 thesis from Latin to German saw a call for a theological debate turn instead into the equivalent of a twitter campaign across Europe. The emphasis was on accessibility. The result was reformation.

How does that work for the Pokemon Go generation? What skills can we share that will touch the lives of 21st century digital natives?  How do Faith, Media and Society interact 500 years after Martin Luither?

GAiN Europe 2017 will explore the legacy of the Reformation and highlight lessons, skills and opportunities for this generation in a series of plenary sessions, workshops and in Sabbath worship. Prepare to learn, to share, to network, to gain skills, and to be challenged.

Who is it for?

Where are we meeting?

We are delighted that our venue for GAiN Europe 2017 is Newbold CollegeNewbold College of Higher Education, Binfield, Berks, England.  Our main meetings will be in the recently refurbished Salsbury Hall while our Saturday evening special film event will take place in the church centre.  Workshops and dining will be provided on campus.  Newbold staff are working hard in preparation to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable.

Coppid Beech hotelAccomodation options are available.  We have negotiated a very competative price at the nearby Coppid Beech hotel (4*). We expect that most delegates will want to stay there but for those on a tight budget there are options in the dormatory rooms at the college.
